Selected based on research grade species observed by annikaml and jnemoebright who do a lot of dilligent blacklighting in the DFW area. Sized based on averages found on Bugguide, estimated as >1/2 when only wingspan is available and resting position is not spread wings.
Steps to create a similar taxonomic guide, will post scripts and resources soon:
1. Add all species to an inaturalist "list".
2. Download taxonomic CSV.
3. Delete all columns between species and taxon_common_name.
4. Sort CSV into accurate taxonomic order. They do not need to be in alphabetic, so long as every taxon is actually grouped together, else you will have multiples of the same taxon.
5. Run a script to get taxon IDs of species instead of URLs that link to that species' place on the list.
6. Run a script to get table of common names and taxon IDs of higher taxa.
7. Find photos and name exactly as species/end taxon.
8. Orient and crop photos so one side represents a measurement.
8. Add columns for width, height, and height multiplier. Add the values manually. Height multiplier is used to account for if antenna/legs of insect make the height of the photo longer than the measurement of the organism.
